Thanks, friend. Yeah the cold would be tough in a yurt for a real long period of time for sure. It is possible though. I know some people who survive Canadian winters in them and they were popularized in the Mongolian steps where it is wicked cold. You have to keep the fireplace going 24/7 and you hit the nail on the head with water management. The actual toughest part of winter in my opinion. We are in TN so winters are pretty mild. We usually only have two or three weeks of truly cold temps when we get arctic blasts every year. We will have to have all of our water systems inside during those snaps.
