I’m going to be narrating an audiobook over the next couple months. Book is going to be pretty huge, I think, and I’m very honored the author asked me to do it.

I’ve done a lot of “Bitcoin Out Loud” reads on nostr:npub10qrssqjsydd38j8mv7h27dq0ynpns3djgu88mhr7cr2qcqrgyezspkxqj8 and also am working my way through Mises’ Six Lessons for my #AustrianAudible series, so that’s good practice.

I love audiobooks. Your voice is great for it. One factor that matters is clarity of speech, especially when listening at 3.5x. It takes patience and diligence to make sure one speaks well…I’m sure there’s an art or science behind it, but some people just can’t be understood at high speed.

I truly appreciate your kind words 🙏

But wait, do you seriously listen at **3.5x** speed?!? That is wild…

I’m definitely going to be extremely diligent about my speech and pace it well so it handles increased listening speeds, but DAMN 3.5x?!

Yup. I started listening fast in medical school for studying for US medical licensing exam. It took me a while to work up to 3.5x, but now that’s my standard for judging a good speaker/reader on audible. I’ve listened to 432 audiobooks over the last 20 years or so this way, most in the last 5 years.

Anyhow, most read audiobooks at like ½ - ¾ speed anyways, so it’s not like a YouTube going that fast (were it possible)…but YouTube at 2x is painfully slow for me. I only listen to stuff I can play at 2x
