I was listening to Erasure this morning, as one does, and it reminded me of one of the things I love about living in the Bay Area.

Mrs Tek told me she met this nice guy, Tom. He made some music stuff. There was a new YouTube video out about him that she wanted to watch.

Oh. *That* Tom. Tom Oberheim. She'd just randomly bumped into the guy who invented the Oberheim Xpander, among a zillion other things.

Mrs Tek: “You've heard of him?”

Me: "Oh, yeah, I've heard of him.”
