We live in an age of temporary things.
We don’t own things, we rent.
We don’t have families, we have “partners.”
We don’t have professions, we have jobs.
We don’t have elders, we have old people.
We don’t have culture, we have trends.
We don’t have knowledge, we have education.
We don’t have vision, we have uncertainty.
We don’t have leaders, we have politicians.
In short, we don’t have quality, we have quantity.
The things that we do own, are designed to be obsolete or break down after a short period of time (AKA planned obsolescence).
In order to live life in harmony with the Universe, in accordance with the Tao, or simply put, the natural order of things, we must embrace that direction. Swim with the current, not against it. You can try, but it’s mostly futile.
Find ways to use this state of temporariness to your advantage and act accordingly. But do it with the underlying intention of actually building things for the long term on top of this foundation.
At this point in time, the best way to do it is through developing skills, knowledge, health and well-being, and relationships. Basically anything immaterial, anything that is not subject to being easily confiscatable/breakable/touchable.
That includes stacking #Bitcoin, which is kind of an odd one, because while it is immaterial, the scarcity of the asset coupled with real-world production costs make it also a commodity.
One should not expect to make a short-term return on Bitcoin though, especially at a time when the international mafia of central banks is in a mode of QT and raising interest rates, i.e. credit destruction. At this point in time, Bitcoin should be viewed as:
1) Insurance against the inevitable collapse of the fiat system
2) Long term savings account
While Bitcoin and its long-term VALUE for humanity both as an asset and a network CANNOT BE FUCKED WITH (nor understated), its PRICE definitely can.
This age of temporariness is also expressed in the complete lack of accountability, credibility and competence in society. Thus, one should minimize trust in and reliance on any 3rd parties (that includes companies, governments, organizations, banks, boards, unions, etc.) relating to everything, but especially anything related to health, wealth, information and security. Embrace the temporariness. DO NOT buy property or businesses in countries that have a high probability of becoming an authoritarian surveillance state.
Make yourself, your family and your assets as unfuckwithable as you can. The Sovereign Individual thesis is playing out in real time (if anybody still hasn’t read that book, please do so ASAP).
