I have not verified if this is true but reading it brings to mind one thought: history is written by the victors which means we will likely never understand why the losers did the things they did. Maybe having digital infrastructure to record history will change this for the better?🤔

Dunno about that. Hardly anything in OP_RETURNS, Inscriptions or Stamps regarding the atrocities of war.
I saw something about a project to inscribe everything Julian Assange exposed about US war crimes. Promising development but not exactly an easy or cheap way to record every war crime
