Bitcoin is for everyone

I did not say otherwise

Fair!

GMโ˜•๏ธโ˜•๏ธ๐Ÿ’œ๐ŸŒ…Bitcoin is irresistible, even Harris will bend the knee.

The possibility of the biggest and more dangerous economical estate of the world getting accidentally orange pilled because this candidate wants votes. That gets anybody excited.

If that were the case I would understand it, but I don't think it is. I see many bitcoiners posting memes and posts in support of Trump and the whole MAGA movement. Conservatives hiding until a few weeks ago who are now coming out because they feel legitimised by the yellow toupee. I personally don't like it because I don't think bitcoin's values align with those of a specific party.

Kind of agree. While I'm not holding out any hopes that Trump will specifically do anything to help bitcoin, I do think this is a big step to legitimise bitcoin in the public eye which can only help with adoption.

I only partially agree. Because while it is true that on the one hand (Trump supporters) Bitcoin can be legitimized, on the other hand (supporters of his opponents) Bitcoin may be even more de-legitimized. As is already happening in El Salvador: no one knows what Bitcoin actually is, but Bitcoin has become the symbol of Bukele's party: those who support Bukele support Bitcoin, those who hate Bukele hate Bitcoin.

And to me this is terrible: Bitcoin has nothing to do with a specific political party.

Good point.

When I tried to explain to my CNN-BBC-watching neighbour how inflation is eating his pension, he immediately accused me of being a "Trumpist". Funny as we're both from the UK and living in Asia.
