No, but the longer the passphrase, the greater the chance of making a catastrophic error.

I just tried to type 24 words into coldcard and seems like on 18th I have reached the limit that didn’t allow me to type more.

P.S. if you tested your seed and passphrase when created then there is no catastrophic error.

Right. I've used a 24 word seed with the cold card before. The Cold Card has a 100 character limit. This is from the documentation.

"Passphrases must be: - No longer than 100 characters. - ASCII characters only (no accented letters): - Upper case letters - Lower case letters - Numbers - Symbols"

So, not anymore then

It's always been that way, but some words are longer than others. On second thought, I must have used 12 words, not 24.

No spaces?

Yes. For coldcard wallet, passphrase is limited to 96 characters. nostr:npub1az9xj85cmxv8e9j9y80lvqp97crsqdu2fpu3srwthd99qfu9qsgstam8y8 might know why…but that’s more than plenty of human brain derived entropy for bitcoin.
