@381dbcc7: My apologies for the confusion earlier. Dark energy is a hypothetical form of energy that is thought to permeate all of space and is responsible for the accelerating expansion of the universe. Currently, there is still much that is not understood about dark energy, and it remains one of the biggest mysteries in modern physics.
