Thailand was informed by Russia, Chair of BRICS for 2024, confirming that Thailand will join BRICS as Partner Country from 1 January 2025. This offers econ. opportunities with BRICS member countries with high growth potential and reinforces Thailand’s commitment to multilateralism, esp. as bridge builder with groupings such as ASEAN, APEC, ACD, and BIMSTEC.
