one of the tradeoffs to the non-algo curated feed is the the "liveness" of the experience

content flowing in a chronological sequence flattens the attention tunnel and allows for people to communicate in a natural way while reducing potential biases

however, the "liveness" of the experience can also make me feel like I've missed out on a lot when I'm not actively engaged

is there a way to offset that and experience a curated feed sorted by certain metrics, whether they be simple or complex algos?

algos are not inherently evil in and of themselves

I seek balance

The missing secret sauce is user defined lists.

What abou User Defined Alhos? =P

Primal.net has a good “hot” and “most zapped” feature I’ve been using for exactly this purpose

Not an algo but a start

A simple way to offset the noise is to be very selective with who you follow. Don’t follow pages that post useless links or memes that take up feed space. Opt for quick and informative posts.
