Unfortunately in America it's rare to receive a rare steak in rare condition.

I'm more of a medium rare guy (in the UK at least). So I guess that's rare in the US. I thought shoe sizes were confusing...
I've had luck saying I want them to be uncomfortable with how rare the steak is when they serve it to me.
