the amount of people around my age that are just wishing to do nothing and retire is seriously worrying

hopelessness will lead to the yout betting it all in the crypto markets as if it were a lottery ticket, for a chance of retiring.

and even if they do win, they’ll still be unhappy.

I'm working towards the choice to work. I want to retire in the next few years but that doesn't mean I'll stop working. I'll just do what I want to do. Donate time to charity. Do the work I want to do now but isn't financially feasible.

Yeah I'll slow down and probably enjoy life more. But I just don't want to HAVE to work.
