I rode around Madeira a bit, the hills were really hard to go up. The downhill was manageable
Although riding along the walkway along the ocean was the best

yeah, the landscape here is very steep, i'm at ~380m altitude and the supermarket i shop at is about 1km away and at about 40m altitude
it's total destruction for brakes and really hard on the uphill as well
some of the paths near me on the north side of the island right next to the ocean are pretty freakish haha don't get too close to the edge
