When planning my shop…

many moons ago…

I was not pleased with my choices of siding.

It was either very expensive wood siding or cheaper forms of pressed board.

None of which are appealing to me.

So, trying to think outside of the box and remembering the siding styles I saw in Iceland, I decided on 6 foot long cedar fence pickets.

They are:

✅ cheap

✅ decent thickness

✅ a species of cedar (weather resistant)

✅✅✅ Beautiful!

Seems like a good choice to me!

We will see how it turns out!

Thats a good idea. We use fence pickets for lots of little projects.

I figure if they are painted or stained with a good oil based product, they should last a long time.

that's a big project - are you building on your own ? what kind of shop are you building ?
