Guys, I’ve been thinking about this so much. I have nephews who are glued to tablets. Raising a little one now, my parenting advice and plan is

- no screen time before 2, then extremely limited and definitely no tablets

- nutritious food

- as much quality time as humanly possible

It’s hard work, but also simple in terms of our plan nostr:note1z0sp79j0rpl0vq2gnsktfxfjdltfwcsuf7ec4zczc0eszj6atrls0wq609

Easier said than done, wait till you’re trying to have a normal, quiet dinner.

Solid starting point, Trey. Anything worth doing is hard work. Add to your plan homeschooling, preferably with a community of parents with aligned principles and pedagogy. When your kids’ friends aren’t on screens/devices, it makes it easier on you and your wife. Also let/make them be outside as much as possible. Nutrition is also key. The food builds their hardware and the education is the software. For nutrition, some families in our homeschool community take turns making runs to a localish farm to pick up raw milk, free range eggs, and local meat for each other. Find your tribe.

Yes do it. We put a lot of effort on these lines and it went pretty well up until April 2024 and it was worth it while it lasted

🤞 hopefully no more pandemics in the near future

Good call Trey! Honestly no judgement to anyone. Everyone parents the way they can and they want. But in our experience, it’s actually easier without the screens which seems insane but is true. I also try to get E outside as much as possible. Like 10k walks every day on the weekends lol. We stop and enjoy things in between and usually end up with a nice meal somewhere which I’m so grateful we can do. I’m also excited to finally get our deck back so we can bbq and eat at home more. Bottom line: you’re doing well if you are thinking about what’s best for your kids and yourself 💜
