✈️ July 2022 – Flight to El Salvador 🇸🇻

On July 14, we left Mexico and flew into El Salvador, driven by pure curiosity about what a Bitcoin Country really looks like.

We expected to see BTC adoption in shops and cafés — and we did — but it turned out to be so much more.

It was about meeting people who truly believe in financial freedom, hearing first-hand how Bitcoin changes lives, and feeling the energy of a country daring to do something different.

From conversations with street vendors accepting sats, to witnessing the quiet confidence of locals building on this new foundation — we came back inspired.

It wasn’t just a trip.

It was a glimpse into what’s possible when a nation dares to opt out.

15 July 2022 — My birthday in El Salvador 🇸🇻🎉

No fancy cars. No guided tours. Just the real way to travel — hopping on the legendary local buses and hiking through lush green trails.

From the painted chicken bus to the mountain paths, every moment felt alive. Traveling like this isn’t just about getting somewhere… it’s about feeling every step, every smell, every sound.

Grateful for another year, for freedom, for movement — and for the roads less traveled.

16 July 2022 – Suchitoto, El Salvador 🇸🇻

Day 3 after arriving in El Salvador, and what better way to kick things off than with a chicken bus ride from San Salvador to Suchitoto. Music blasting, good vibes all around, snacks and drinks passing hands — everyone here seems to be their own boss 🫣.

Suchitoto welcomed us with cobblestone streets, warm smiles, and the rhythm of small-town life. We wandered into a lively street game, then treated ourselves to a burger at Donde Pollo with one of the best lake views I’ve ever seen. $10 for a burger might sound steep… until you factor in that view. Worth every sat.

One night at Monchi’s Hostel — brand new, cozy, and serving a proper Salvadoran breakfast. A perfect start to the adventure.
