Plot twist: each of us IS a camera whose recorded experiences, observations, and emotions are stored in the Akashic records.

These records can be “checked out” like books at a library. The experience of each incarnation is recorded in a manner similar to how live music vibrates a needle which records the vibrational profile of the song into the physical structure of a vinyl record.

Entities on “the other side” can choose to experience any given “imprint” of an incarnation in the same way that a vinyl record listener can experience the imprint of any given piece of music that has been imprinted in vinyl.
