I would like you to tell me how you proceed when #buying #bitcoin #InPerson:

🅛🅞🅒🅐🅣🅘🅞🅝:

Meetup, public place, etc.

🅜🅔🅣🅗🅞🅓 (this is the part that interests me the most):

#Lightning or On-chain.

For On-chain, how do you proceed during the waiting period until the transaction is confirmed?

🅢🅔🅛🅛🅔🅡:

Always recommended by a trusted third party, only buy from someone you have trusted for years, etc.

Thanks FED but I promissed my other FED that I would keep it between us 😀

I know a 70-year-old bitcoiner to whom I have explained step by step how to buy on P2P platforms, but it causes her a lot of anxiety.

I think that for people like her, the best solution might be to buy in person.

I just wanted to gather some advice to pass along to her.

In person stuff is very dangerous these days, specially on the global south.

FED Jokes aside I would recommend the "Uncle Jim" approach. Get someone they trust to do the buying and setting up of the accounts. Security and backups are too technical for 70yo and scammers have a high rate of success with them.

Forgetting and missplacing are also very common. And at the end of the day they usually do not want the BTC for themselves but for their kids/grandkids.

1 You aproach to the nearest bitcoin only community

2 You contribute to the community and earn the respect

3 They will trust you to make deals and you will trust them

You only need yourself and one more person to do p2p
