Why do they care if I don’t want to relay their bullshit or if I want to take extra time to verify their block and propagate it to other nodes?

I can’t stop them from spinning up a solo miner and building their own blocks like Satoshi did.

Why am I the bad guy for simply exercising Bitcoin’s built-in checks and balances between nodes and miners??

You're not the bad guy. I just try to point out that it's pointless to hate JPEGs (very standardized image format) or arbitrary data in Bitcoin tx's because they're needed for lightning and possible other layer 2 technologies. Experimentation is good for Bitcoin!

Analogy: you own a set of AirBTC apartments. Then someone comes and wants to rent all of them at once just for themself and pays you the price you're asking. Maybe they're stupid and wasteful, but should we hate them for thay? Should you "filter" them out entirely because they're now "spamming" and filling your blocks (apartments) unnecessarily?

Not the most useful analogy, but I terrible either, so if I’m trying to play along…

Should you be mad at the owner if they don’t want to rent out all of their properties to one person all at once?

Maybe, there are other customers who want to rent out his properties at the same time too, so maybe the owner thinks it’s better business to rent out each property to one customer… so the owner uses discernment and judgement to allocate their resources to more than just one customer. 🤷🏻‍♂️
