It simply doesn’t relate to most people. Most of the memes/posts/culture are too niche and makes people who are about btc feel less in the community when it is not so welcoming and inviting as they have advertised. I’m not into tech/and am blue collar and most of the stuff I see posted I don’t understand or relate too, the stuff I do I follow and comment on.

I joined a few days ago, and have the same feelings ; there is a cultural shock, and large misunderstanding about crypto mambo jambo (what is that 'dip' stuff for example

Yeah absolutely. I think typical social media is toxic and I have zero social media besides this and haven’t had any for over a decade. I just realize if they want Nostr to become to decentralized social media hub they want it to, just need to figure out how to reach the masses.
