It's much better to self-host. Have your own email, chat, nextcloud, searx and etc. For those that don't have the skills or the will, they can ask for an account for some friend of cousin that is doing it.

I have hosted all the things including calenders, notes, journals, chat. But found that these are not fully private as hosted on AWS, Amazon can sell my data !
Exactly it's not self-hosted but hosted. Doing it on AWS is like keeping sats on an exchange.
I can't self-host fully because the limitations provided by my ISP! It's pain in the ass to forward the ports ! OpenVPN is slow. I will try with wireguard someday. But this gives the risks of data lost as it will not be backed up in a remote server.
