Ooh she’s a beauty! I love that it’s subtle/generic enough that I can plan to use it as a foot-warming space heater under my desk at work lol

Those fans are not very powerful, I have it on my desktop now for that reason, sitting next to a box with three fans, an NVIDIA 1050 and the psu fan

The nano is at high speed and it barely hums next to the other fans

But I’m buying a dust cover for it tomorrow and I’m moving it under the desk too lmao

Even better! Thanks for feeding my excitement 😁🤙🤙

Aww I absolutely feel you, I was very stoked myself

I think it’s a nice lottery miner and along with the work that the #Bitaxe crew is doing, or the work on StratumV2, DATUM and whatever the open source wizards have down the pipeline makes me think that the future for #homemining is lit

Also, Canaan stated that they’re going to open source the firmware in December 2024.

I expect that people will take advantage and work on that too

That’s awesome to hear!

Between the Avalon, BitAxe, and NerdMiner, I guess I’ve gone all-in on the lottery mining 😂 I don’t even care if they never find a block (I mean it would be life-changing, but I have zero expectation of that happening lol). It’s just a great learning experience and a chance to play a tiny part of this movement that so inspires me 🫡

At 20 TH/s I might even point the Avalon at a pool and mine a few sats per day, rather than the one-in-fifty-million chance of finding each block.

You should (for the 20TH/s)

They don’t do 20THs, they max at 4, but yeah you can always pick up a few

Hm, I could have sworn the one I was looking at had a range from 4TH to 70TH (and price from ~$100 to $500) but now I’m not seeing it.

I thought I was on the “Avalon” website at the time, but now googling it I’m only finding “Canaan-Avalon” although I thought they were distinct.

Gonna have to look a little deeper when I get home 🤷‍♂️ but regardless, still stoked lol

Yeah, Nano 3 only goes up to 4. No lottery miner goes to double digits so far I believe

So this was the one I found 🤔 they have options up to 70 TH/s but it seems that Canaan & Avalon are intertwined companies but perhaps not perfectly identical?

I have never seen that before and I also found this, apparently it’s the same machine, with slightly different wording ?

I know for a fact that the real company is called Canaan Creative Inc and it’s Chinese, the miners series with many models is the Avalon series and Nano 3 is the 4ths lottery miner

I’m confused and I would be weary of the claim, but I don’t know anything about them

And keep in mind, the original is Canaan.io

Yeah I’m wondering if I started with a little too much trust and not quite enough verify 😬

I’m hopeful it’s just like a Japanese branch of the company since they have a few different international offices… and not an impersonator or something… it’s one of those times where one remembers the value of credit card’s ability to run a chargeback, if needed 🤦‍♂️

Gonna cross my fingers and hope for the best, I guess

Hey, any idea why there doesn’t seem to be a version that includes a USA power supply here? Or am I just totally missing it? Lol

https://www.canaan.io

Finally found it (a few hours after my question) lol, thanks friend
