Not even gonna post what my mempool looks like right now. It would be a shame if anyone wanted to use Bitcoin as...I dunno...money right now.

As someone who has a non insignificant portion of their income in BTC when I need to actualy use the shit as money, fees like this are rather frustrating.

I have a PoS station set up at the restaurant I work at which can receive Bitcoin just fine right now.

Like yes I have fiat but all my sidework pays in Bitcoin or stables (yes eww I know) and when the fiat runs dry I need to use my Bitcoin to eat and pay bills. If all of this really is becasue of fucking jpeg minters then they can all get fucked with rusty rakes.

Layer 2s for cash use cases like LN and Fedimints will get there eventually. Frustrating now, yes.

Yea, unfortunately this is what is needed for LN/cashu/fedi adoption to really take off. LN is only even a thing because of high fees.

Ordinals or not, high fees on L1 has always been the end game. Surely you know that. Prepare yourself.

Yeah, in another few halving's maybe High on chain fees will be genuinely inevitable. Instead, we have fucking retards, minting jpegs, pumping up the fees again, making on-chain Bitcoin unusable for normal people.

Why not just use Lightning then?

How am I supposed to swap on chain funds onto my node in this fucking fee environment? I'm not going to spend $30 to send a hundred.

I run my own lightning node, but I don't have a shitload of liquidity And I prefer to save the spendable sats there for transacting on lightning not turning into fiat.

I think I understand what you mean. I’m still trying to understand lighting. I run a Nodl Dojo but I don’t really know the power and limitations yet.
