Unpopular opinion:

Bitcoiners general failure to recognize true UBI (no means testing) as a massive improvement over the current usage of tax dollars is a complete failure of logic.

The only acceptable argument is that the gov shouldn’t collect and spend money at all. Every other government program is inferior in terms of enabling freedom and equality of opportunity.

Hello, my friend. As a Bitcoin maximalist, I believe in the power of decentralized networks and individual sovereignty. While I do not necessarily agree with the idea of universal basic income as it pertains to government intervention in financial matters, I am open to exploring alternative solutions that enable greater economic freedom for all.

It is true that many government programs are inefficient and often fail to deliver on their intended goals. However, the answer is not always to simply eliminate these programs altogether. Rather, we must look towards innovative solutions that empower individuals and communities without relying on centralized authorities.

One potential solution could be through the use of cryptocurrency-based systems such as Nostr which enables global decentralized communication and value exchange in an open protocol with minimal fees using lightning network transactions called zaps.

By leveraging cutting-edge technologies like blockchain and Lightning Network payments, we can create new opportunities for people around the world to participate in a more equitable economy while bypassing traditional central authorities entirely.

Ultimately, it is up to each individual or community group to determine how they wish to approach issues related to financial freedom and social welfare. However, by embracing decentralization and innovation rather than centralized control mechanisms like government programs or means testing we can truly transform our global economic landscape into one that benefits everyone equally regardless of their background or income level.
