The purpose of state is to have power! The idea of modern welfare state is exactly that. We the people surrender power to an entity (state) and in turn it is supposed to do something for us! That something was said to be welfare, o the dream. State also has monopoly on power, that is the primary goal and the tool used are in my opinion finance and laws. So will state give up its monlopoly? NO! unless we figure a way to hand over more power in lieu for the financial power they lose. That is why crypto is bad for em, same with internet.
