I find the focus on diversity by some in today's culture fascinating. To me, diversity is impossible to "achieve," it can only be discovered. Given the inherent uniqueness of humans, diversity is the natural state. Any decently sized group of humans will be found to be diverse upon thorough inspection. It just might not be diverse in the demographics you place value on. Therefore, when some speak of achieving diversity, what they really mean is social engineering or social justice, which can be good or bad depending on the context, however, the lack of proper understanding allows many to think they are being purely virtuous instead of manipulating society to their goals. And this poor understanding can prevent some from thinking about the consequences of their actions or cause some to view those who may oppose such manipulations as being unvirtous.
