People may not join Nostr for freedom tech—X & Rumble feel free enough to them. Most don’t care about liberty.

But money? Instant creator payments? That’ll draw them. Monetization elsewhere sucks, and that’s easy to sell. Zaps will probably end up being the draw.

I read this essay last night. I think that zaps are the solution to some of the issues raised. Interoperability is really incredible but I don’t think that people will care as much as they care about money. Direct payments to creators is where it’s at.

me and my friends at #gitcitadel care a lot about interop and that's why we are going to build the solutions that fix all the nonsense

i'm very busy building out a more sain, condensed, cleanly separated version of the protocol, that is comprehensible by most full stack devs

the current protocol has a really glaring hole of ambiguity around auth, which is the bread and butter of the web, and is inordinately inefficient at very many things, these are all addressed and i even have a transition scheme now for a more sane format to the event encoding

Zaps spreading to other platforms would also be good. 😁

The corporate tech providers will take the idea obviously a few have in their own way with other cryptocurrencies. The content on X would be better if they had zap payments and got rid of their current creator program. It’s currently pathetic. 😂

I’ve been pushing to see the move over to Bluesky, but the official team would never do it, so a third party dev would have to integrate it.

With the amount of SWers over there, I think it would catch on pretty quick.

Show me the incentive alignment and I will predict how people behave.

but what if they dont want anything to do w/ b1tc01n ?

It wouldn’t need to be explicitly shown as Bitcoin.
