🔋 The Hidden Cost of “I Know Better”

Today, I lost one hour.

Not to traffic. Not to tech failure.

But to a quiet voice I didn’t trust —

my coworker’s.

A few weeks ago, he said:

“We should charge the electric vehicles at every opportunity.”

Simple. Practical. True.

At noon today, while reloading the small van (yes — the one some of you have seen on this profile),

An other coworker asked gently:

“Want to plug it in now?”

I replied: “It’s enough.”

It wasn’t.

Battery dropped to 2 %.

Range: 6 km.

I had to detour to a fast charger —

and lost 60 minutes of my day.

Time I can’t get back.

Time I’d planned to spend building livingmen.

What I’m learning:

→ Ego isn’t loud arrogance — it’s the quiet “I’ve got this” when someone offers help.

→ Most people do mean well — especially when their advice aligns with reality (like physics… and battery limits 😊).

→ Trust isn’t blind. It’s efficient.

Next time?

I’ll plug in — and thank the one who reminded me.

Because growth isn’t about never slipping.

It’s about noticing sooner —

and returning faster.
