There are some really good points in here. Great post #[0]​ ! I didn’t realize its even less decentralized than activitypub. oof. Maybe once they update their architecture to support multiple blueskys and freeskys existing at the same time, but it seems like it would suffer from the same isolated instances problem that mastodon had. Even if you could somehow have the technical chops to run a personal data server to store your social graph, could you still connect to bluesky and freesky at the same time? None of this is very clear and the bluesky engineer’s response wasn’t very reassuring.

I read the entire post, I was also surprised. It's even worst than etherem and currently it's not even pretending to be a decentralized.

the vulnerability to protocol capture by popular apps is true, but Nostr is not immune to that.

if you create your own relay, and the most popular client simply refuses to connect to any relay that hosts you, or censor any of your events, you get the same problem.

the best point in this post was the criticism of did:plc, because that is just a shit show
