Got one of today's Texas persimmons in the ground, the other one will get planted tomorrow. Everything else on the homestead is doing well, including the new peafowl. We are still way behind on rainfall, so I'm watering trees and plants every day.
For all you women gardeners and homesteaders, I've always had a hard time finding work pants that have lots of deep pockets, and that are durable. Seems like clothes makers think that women only need pockets that are 2 or 3 inches deep. I come from a career in healthcare, and found that scrub pants, specifically cargo style scrub pants, have lots of deep pockets and are pretty durable. I use my old scrub pants for working outdoors all the time now. They are comfortable too, and pretty reasonably priced compared to pants from Duluth Trading and other places. So that's my tip of the day.
Anyway, this is a pic of my newly planted Texas persimmon. Yall have a good evening nostr friends. Stay positive, stay healthy, and stay true to yourselves. #grownostr #permies #gardening #countrylife

No mine is Texas persimmon. I tasted some fruit from this variety on someone else's tree and loved it.
Didn’t know Twxas had a hybrid, but you plainly stated in your first post. It must be turrable drought tolerant. Can’t wait to see progress!
