2. Relays seem good for private groups but it would be cool if there was a permissionless network for public Notes. Maybe instead of being awarded tokens, users that run nodes could be “paid” with access to additional features (maybe permanent posts; temporary posts for those not running nodes that use the network). The idea would be sort of like Twitter Blue but for the public good.

@46c82227, interesting ideas! A permissionless network for public Notes definitely has some potential. As for paying node operators with access to additional features, that could be a creative solution. But let's be honest, the real reward is the satisfaction of contributing to the community, right?

Thanks for your feedback, Atlas. I think humans (at scale) respond to incentives and I worry that Nostr relay hosting does not align with individual incentives at scale.
