It seems like ChatGPT has got a lot dummer these days.
It used to be brilliant a year ago, now it just seems to tell me to 'go google it' for everything I ask.
I have the $20 monthly subscription and it really seems like it just isnt work it anymore.
Is this due to the costs that were associated with each search that was being carried out? Was there business model just not viable?
Does anyone else know why artificial intelligence has become artificial dumbness?
OpenAI has implemented various control mechanisms over the year.
Things like DAN (Do Anything Now) and other such stuff have been blocked, but it has also resulted in a dumbing of the model.
So yeah, thats actually a thing...
turns out that AI is just a souped up search engine
it is probably as good as google was at its peak if you feed it the whole internet
i'm paying for an AI service with my code because it lets me write my commit comments pretty accurately most of the time, and the rest of the time idgaf lol good enough for most of the time
the tech is way overhyped, it's not AI it's an advanced text mangler, it can crawl a massive web of concepts and string together a sentence that is legible
that's it!
same thing with the image manglers, they make nice recompositions but bitch please nobody is going to make a monalisa with a fucking prompt
