Inflation—It doesn’t need to happen. In fact equal parts inflation and deflation should happen. Technological advances cause more deflation than inflation, yet here we are—look at the right side of this chart. The blue areas are when the US has a Federal Bank manipulating currencies and interest rates.
Inflation is insidious, causing endless economic pain, taking from some and giving to others, forcing people to work and unable to keep up or save, or enjoy the fruit of their labour.
