They were officially fighting against "fascism", so officially, fascism ceased to exist after WW2 (with exceptions like Spain, although even there it was automatically whitewashed as something else, now that it had the support of the US).
However, the fusion of corporation and state IS the definition of fascism, and that's exactly the type of regimes we have in the West since the "Progressive Era" and "the Welfare State" happened.
