So it’s wrong to treat Bitcoin as a hobby even if it’s a financial revolution? You want to see “occupies the deepest recesses of your mind” go talk to some dedicated dungeons and dragons fans. Or dedicated sports fans. What’s wrong with having a dedicated community of Bitcoin fans? Does it ruffle your feathers that much people want to see actual change in the financial system? Shitcoins devalue Bitcoin as a brand and currency so it’s only natural Bitcoin maxis disagree with that core idea that is shitcoins even if some of them help bring innovation to Bitcoin that would otherwise take longer without them.

I don't care about bitcoin vs any other coin, it's all the same made-up currency, all pushed by the same grifters. And yes, dollars are also made-up. None of that is worth dwelling on.
I'm here to try to get at least some of you to wake up to the fact that you've replaced your entire personality, whatever it used to be, with bitcoin and stock charts.

no bluesky is different, its actually very similar to mastodon, nostr originated completed seperately from jack, jack has only just got involved and he is only having partial influence on design
#[12] has been quite open why he did bluesky and why he likes nostr, to sum it up no one person or entity should control this
It has a lot of potential, but the userbase is absolute F-tier trash in terms of having anything useful to say. I have not once seen a conversion in the wild here about
- God, the afterlife, the problem of evil
- Humanity and salvation (aside from saving it with bitcoin)
- Deranged conspiracy theories that actually have a lot of evidence
- Calling out lies of media (aside from lies about inflation/interest)

Bitcoin is in a way silly. However it’s just a lot less silly than anything else real-estate is unaffordable as an investment for a majority of people.
Shitcoins are just all inflated crap no different to NFT’s where they can be created and it never ends.

I agree I would say there is Bitcoin maxis that treat Bitcoin like a cult rather than an investment or currency but if your gonna be in any cult it’s about the best cult you can be in. Doesn’t harm a single person but the traditional financial system and in the end you profit on the side. I’d even go as far to say it’s a better “cult” than Christianity 😉
People compare it to tulip mania but tulip mania was a bubble because tulips aren’t scarce it’s just common sense Bitcoin is truly scarce it written in the fundamental code.
No one has even done a successful attack on Litecoin yet and it runs on a inferior less secure POW algorithm. The chances of a Bitcoin attack ever happening and being successful are so incredibly small. Even if the CCP tried to attack BTC they’d be unsuccessful.
Bitcoin is real hard money every other currency in history beside precious metals are Monopoly money.

No my brain is steeped in securing a future for my future family. God isn’t gonna do it for me. My boss isn’t gonna do it for me.
The only person who can create a life better than the one I grew up in for my kids is me. Pray all you want but you have to step up and build the life for yourself. Bitcoin not only secured my wealth it grows my wealth and that I can be guaranteed of. More than anything else at-least.
Bitcoin isn’t with 100% certainty but it’s the closest thing to it. Who am I gonna trust with my currency the government? A company in the S & P 500? Ha what a joke.
nothing is wrong with bitcoin having a community and the brilliance of #[12] is to have nostr expose people to bitcoin on nostr which is the most promising decentralized social ever in no small part because it is built on the tech and experience of bitcoin and lightning, the problem some just dont like bitcoin like some might not like many other things so for everyone nostr needs curation tools to go all the way
