Fyi Western allies troops were in the forests of Belgium, Ardennes or Battle of the bulge when the Red Army was entering Germany and discovering camps etc.
So on a timeline, the Red Army were moving much faster than the Western allies.
I think the battle of the bulge diverted enough attention from the East, to the Western flank, which made it easier for the red Army to enter.
Either way, no single effort by ANY soldier is diminished. They all fought hard and we'll, even the Nazi's.
The USA entered the war 4 years after it started, when it was clear the Soviets were winning. Out of fear of letting them take over too much of Europe.
Truman was a Russophobe who started the cold war.
I didn't see their flag on top of the Reichstadt....
