Lows for some are highs for others, and the other way around. It's most difficult to appreciate things, in my experience, when your world view is limited. That's what really keeps you from seeing the context of something.
There’s an amazing interview with Stephen Fry who suffers manic depression. It was after he had disappeared from public view for a while with lots of speculation. He’d just had one of his severe down moments. When asked if he’d take a drug that put him on an even emotional state, he said hell no. I’d never sacrifice the amazing nature of the highs simply not to feel the lows. It’s well worth trying to find
