If I have 14+ general relays why do I need separate inbox, search, private, DM relays etc? I'm confused.

Can I not search or receive DMs if there are left blank?

Correct. You won't be able to search or receive DMs until you set them up.

Don't remove them from General, just add the relays you like to each category.

For search you can just hit the default button. There are only 3 relays that can provide search anyway...

For home, choose the relay that will store your events forever. Most people used a paid one, like nostr.wine or nostr1.com.

For public inbox, choose the relay that every person will send public notifications to you (likes, zaps, etc). This can be nos.lol or nostr.mom for instance.

For private inbox, you want to do a mix of a personal relay (auth.nostr1.com) with a public relay, like nostr.mom

Thank you 🤙 if I don't add a draft relay where will drafts be saved?

Edit * if I dont add a Private relay where will drafts be saved?

You should install Citrine and add the localhost address. Then it saves all in the phone.

OK Citrine installed and local host added to both private and local relays 🫡 do I need to give Citrine unrestricted battery or will it run fine with optimised?

If I have citrine backing up all notes to my phone, would boosting a note also back that up to my phone?

Thanks for this! Should the relays I use for inbox/outbox also be in the general list? Or is there no point in duplication?

The general list should contain the relays you are connecting to download posts from your follows.

The inbox and outbox lists tell others where to get your posts or send posts to you :)

So if I put nos.lol as my inbox but not in the general list I will get replies to my notes from that relay but not new notes from people I follow?

You still get it, because the app will connect to nos.lol to download your notifications anyway. If it is already connected, the app can reuse the connection to download the rest. But the rest is not the purpose of the inbox list, so don't bet on it.

Thanks again!
