just been looking at google earth for the terrain around me here in madeira, and i just want to point something out

see that nasty big dry patch through the middle of the picture?

guess what stands along the ridge of the bottom left of that dry patch?

only about 10 wind power turbines

coincidence?

i think not

those turbines are stopping the wet air from passing over the ridge and watering the plateau behind it
