I’m depressed I haven’t graduated college and I’m almost 21.

It might be interesting to ask yourself why.

The traditional university degree system is going through the same kind of transformation the financial system is. The old structures are less relevant and new ones are emerging.

When I was graduating in the 90’s it was getting common for people to take 5 years instead of 4 for lots of good reasons.

Now education is widely distributed across a spectrum of possibilities and many companies no longer consider a university degree a necessary qualification.

Thresholds are important though, as much for what they’ve offer us personally than for what they signal to others.

I just want to go into psychology. It is really intellectually engaging in every way and I feel I can pour my heart and soul into it. I’m convinced I would be a good fit for this field.

Awesome. Having a sense of what inspires you and makes you happy is super powerful and lots of people don’t that that awareness yet.

Living your joy doesn’t necessarily mean it needs to be your livelihood also, but if it does it could be in a variety of ways, not just as a therapist.

Psychology is a people field and when you really distill it down, it’s used to either help people or control them. Which appeals to you more?

Helping people in a must. I just want to listen to people and make them feel understood and show them that they can access their own healing. The schooling is intense tho xD

Excellent.

Yes, the schooling is intense. I’m a teacher of it (and always a student) and it’s the hardest best education ever.

Understanding your own motivations are important.

Lots of people get service and control mixed up, and adding the financial pressures of professional work) and a regulatory environment) further adds to the burden of confusion.

I love that you already see that people are their own healers, we are support. No one can heal another.

I think there must be a shift in attitude soon globally around work. It’s an underlying current that’s brewing.
