It's not just a dollar thing.

In fact, the dollar and the Swiss franc are the currencies that have lost the least purchasing power in the last 50 years. That is, in the rest of the currencies it is still much worse.

If you want to see for yourself, do a weekly dca for 40 years on an index like the sp500, gold, commodities, adjusted a little below inflation, since your salary does not grow at the same level, and you will be surprised with the money you get to retirement.

Any FIAT currency devalues over time.

Yes i know what you mean. I don't disagree on that except the thing that others don't print money as they want. This is what the dollar did. Anyway yes as i said it is normal to want something that does not devaluate but if what you have doesn't accepted widely there is not much point.
