I believe so, it's like planting seeds, combating hate with wisdom and understanding. Asking questions that challenge their worldview and then leaving them alone to contemplate. He came back and liked my final comment which says to me on some level the message was received.

It takes time to cut through the conditioning of the mind and hate is a learned habit from mental, emotional, social, and environmental conditioning that makes up the Self identity and its views/ beliefs.
