#bitcoin miners are more likely to try to force a fork from their side during a bull run when their profits are higher so they have more financial runway while getting everyone moved over.

It is important to make sure that node runners are educated about why #drivechains are a bad idea now before they start.

It is important to get as many plebs as possible running nodes now before they start.

Is this the beginning of a “so you wanna run a node” series

Hm. When I wrote it it was just the continuation of my anti drivechains series. That might be a good idea though.

Have it be beyond the how to install btc core.

Get into how to enforce consensus rules and adopt or reject bips you don’t support.

They are are great idea and do not harm anyone who i no interested in it.

That is simply not true. Technically maybe but you have to consider the human factor. There are many low information buyers. The news is poorly educated about the subject.

When the dev of a project on a sidechain rugs, bitcoin will get blamed. If the miners steal the sidechain funds, bitcoin proper will get blamed.

This is a big part of the divide. Many only see bitcoin as a NGU technology. They see drivechains as a short term way to push the number even higher. For others bitcoin has moral value, keeping value in the pockets of those who worked for it instead of those who have access to print money. For them bitcoin adoption getting hurt unnecessarily is a very bad thing, not just a price action to bet on.
