What setup do you have? What are you running for the lnaddress? Nostdress? 🐶🐾🤔

btcpayserver, it has a field for something@mydomain.com so I just made it "zap@mydomain.com" but I don't know how to test it.

Its' actually zap@pay.globalthreat.info

Since you are the one who opened a channel, all the balance is on your side. This means that you cannot receive anything, unless you send something. If you have WoS or getAlby, then you could send funds to your wallet from the node to gain receive liquidity 🐶🐾🫡
