Is it weird if grandparents don’t take their grandkids to the park?

I’ve been to parks with my kids so many times and I think I’ve rarely seen any grandparents - it’s always a parent. Is this a uniquely weird thing about Japan or fairly normal ?

Thinking back on my own childhood, only one of my grandparents ever took me anywhere 🤔

Only on one side though

As a kid or as a grandparent? Sorry, I don’t know your age

When I was a kid

Will be doing another stream in a little bit if you want to stop by.

I thought it was part of the job description?

🤷‍♂️

Maybe it’s time of day that you go, I homeschool & see plenty of grandparents at playgrounds during ‘school hours’ with the toddler & pre-school grandkids - clearly babysitting for working parents.

Lots of weekends. Do grandparents take weekends off?

Grandparents had it easier money wise so they mostly took me on "expensive" outings and vacations
