Since the age of 15-16, I have had a heart for young men. I don't know if it was rooted in being bullied as a kid or just seeing that most children didn't have a great father like I was blessed with.

When I was 17 or so a stranger prayed over me and in the last seconds before departing, he said, "you will help and lead young men to grow in Christ", It has been imprinted on my brain since then.

I never knew what that meant, but now that I am 36 with 2 boys of my own it is becoming clear.

Call it confidence gained from raising boys; maybe it is simply the maturity a man starts to reach in his later 30s. But my stance on my purpose and placement on this earth has shifted and it's been heavier on my heart.

Some key points about our nations need for men with this calling:

- 20.2% of fathers are absent fathers, meaning the parents are separated and the child does not live with the father.

- 30% of absent fathers never marry. and 25% of absent fathers have children with more than one woman.

In the last month, I have been presented with the opportunity to work with a focused group of men who are recovering drug addicts. It has been an eye opening experience because most of the things they want to do in the short and long term are areas God has pressed on my heart for quite a long time. Things like:

1. Beating their addiction, changing their identity and finding purpose.

2. Forming connections with family and friends

3. Persuing entrepreneurship

4. Mission work

5. Forming great habits.

I often bring the message back to more than "beating addiction" which is focused on the self. While that is their goal in the short term, they all reinforce their desire to serve others and provide value in their community.

It is pretty incredible how the spirit of most men is to serve and do far more than where we are currently. It is a blessing to come alongside those people and witness their eyes light up and the transformation they so deeply desire.

All that being said...

Most children do not get to experience and see what a dedicated daily father figure is. God intended for his children to have one father and one mother together and married.

Many young dudes have passion, dreams, and desires that are bigger than they know how to direct their energy. I can feel God tugging me more toward this, and opportunity has been thrown into my lap and its pulling me in.

Going to pause here as I need to start my work day. I just ask that you pray for me and these men as we dive deeper, and ask for your prayers as I continue to pursue God's calling for my life.

It is far more than #bitcoin and #marketing and my passion of entrepreneurship.

Appreciate whoever reads this far and keeps me in their prayers. Its a great Thursday!
