Sooner or later there will be too much money in funding bitcoin dev. Yes, you read that correctly. The personal interests will be too great not to fund developers who advance those goals. Whether it actually buys any desired outcome is to be seen, though I suspect not.

Discussion

Interesting. I had this discussion with someone who knows some core devs and he said something like : "you can't buy many of this people. a lot of them don't exist in fiat world at all and have strong principles. " another thing is the consensus needed to implement changes. Node runners are not that stupid to allow to destroy this protocol.

Someone will make nodes easy. Someone will try to co-opt them. Someone will make an argument for an innocent little change.

Not saying it’s easy, but attempts will be made.

If bitcoin truly takes over the world, there’s gonna be an ungodly amount of money trying to influence every aspect. It’ll be relentless.

It seems the goal should be to prevent corporate/state capture. And a solution to that seems get the information and money flowing as much as possible.

V4V seems like a healthy model to have. You get out what you put into the system. Starve the leeches.

I agree. The money must flow. Hodl is not enough.
