Is there any reason why monero's price wouldn't crash once trustless atomic swaps between bitcoin and monero are implemented?

I understand the need to use monero, but why would anyone (buyers and merchants) hold it at that point if they seamlessly swap it to bitcoin?

Because it’s utility maybe..

I didn't claim the price would go to 0, just that it would crash due to it's utilitarian price point, whatever that is.

The monetary premium for a SoV is orders of magnitude above the one for a MoE.

Swap to monero, swap back, hodl bitcoin.

True, but $3B market cap vs. $600B

<1% doing this would bloat that coin pretty quick

It would depend on the swap volume ofc, but I imagine the price had to drop significantly.

Your anonymity set is better if you hold privacy coins for longer. You need other people after you to make transactions. Either in general for Zcash. Or including your coins in their rings in the case of Monero.

Thanks, I didn't know that, valid point!
