What do we need to happen for Nostr to be moved more into the realm of acceptance by Mainstream people who are on X and Threads?

I like the idea of the overton window, also known as the window of discourse. If looked at under that lens, one could see how Nostr could possibly fall into the realm of the radical and unthinkable.

If this is the case, what could be done or what might happen to make Nostr more accepted?

Is it an implementation at the protocol level?

Will it happen gradually through normalisation?

Are there external factors that need to be in place?

Is this more of a marketing concern?

Would a social unrest or overreaching censorship on other platforms be one of the only ways to change Nostr's perception by the mainstream?

I think a lot of people I know like the idea, but aren't motivated to take part if they are the only one in their social network on the protocol, there are possibly only a handful of people in my entire country using nostr at this stage. I feel people need a reason to change, and nostr is acting as an important solution to an unrecognised problem.

I can see why. The feeling of emptiness and loneliness when you don't have your regular social circle can be difficult to deal with. #nostr is really niche right now.

There are some efforts with things like #plebchain and #grownostr to improve this, ultimately it will take time.

Sad irony that I found it easy to delete my traditional social media accounts and move over here because I never really spent much time on social media, now I feel I need to be more of a content creator to help nostr grow 🙈
