Often something that is very little dangerous is treated as exaggeratedly dangerous, something that is incomplete is treated as complete, something that exists is redefined as something else.

Certain famous people faked their deaths to retire their public personas at the height of their fame and keep selling their work for decades
And certain history is based on documents “discovered” by known forgers and sold to wealthy collectors who had an agenda to bolster certain claims of the legitimacy of their power in the present
